The Home Health Aide (HHA) Bridge Course is a 40-hour program that enables Certified Nurse Assistants (CNAs) to expand their scope of practice into home-based patient care. Training focuses on rehabilitation support, personal care, nutrition, and client safety within the home setting. Graduates are eligible for California HHA certification and enjoy increased employment opportunities in home-health agencies and hospice care.

Admission Requirements
- Active California CNA certification in good standing
- Valid government-issued ID and SSN / ITIN
- Current CPR/BLS card (AHA) – may be added on-site
- Physical exam, immunizations, & TB clearance valid through course dates
- Clear Live Scan background check for home-health agency clearance
Admission Procedure
- 1.Complete online HHA Bridge application and upload CNA license.
- 2.Pay registration fee or submit employer sponsorship letter.
- 3.Provide updated physical, immunization records, and TB result.
- 4.Attend mandatory one-hour orientation the Friday prior to start date.

Included: Registration fee, HHA Skills Handbook, one uniform top (royal blue), liability insurance, Live Scan processing, and the state certification application fee (first attempt).
Grading & Completion
Pass/Fail evaluation; minimum 75% on written exam and skills check-off. 100% attendance is required (state mandate). Upon successful completion, VTI submits certification paperwork to CDPH on your behalf.
